The LAREMA (the math department of the University of Angers) invites applications for a tenure track position in Probability Theory starting in September of 2024. After a five-year contract at the rank of Assistant Professor with highly favorable conditions for research, it is expected to lead to a permanent Professor position. Courses will be taught in French or/and English. The successful candidate is expected to have an internationally recognized record in probability theory. More specifically, his/her domain of research should concern branching structures such as: discrete and continuous branching processes, spatial branching processes, random graphs related to combinatorics, fragmentation and coalescence, applications in biology and particle physics.
Requirements: PhD in mathematics, internationally recognized research experience, fund-raising ability, research supervision skills.
