Remark: Backgrounds are supposed to look nice. However they can sometime make the reading more difficult. When this happens you must know that most web browsers allow to replace the background of a page by the default grey (or any other choosen color) background, as well as to change the size, the color and the font of the text of any web page. Learn how to use menus like "Preferences", Options", etc. (Netscape and Explorer, among others, can do this even in old versions.)

Did you know that? Some people still do think that one should build only pages wich are truly widely accessible. They try to discourage browser specific web design, such as those provided by some Micro$oft or Net$cape specific tools. This site (probably the only one in the world wide web which exists in more than 30 languages!) provides a lot of usefull informations on how to make your web pages more widely accessible.
